What is the difference between New and Old tax regime?

New regime: lower slab rates, fewer deductions, standard deduction ₹75,000. Old regime: higher slab rates but you can claim deductions (80C, 80D, HRA, etc.). Choose the one that gives you lower tax after considering your deductions.

What is rebate 87A?

Rebate under section 87A: If your taxable income is up to ₹7 lakh (New regime) or ₹5 lakh (Old regime), you get full rebate and pay no tax. It effectively increases the zero-tax threshold.

Is cess included in the calculator?
